Olivine dolerite microscope thin section ideal for educational use. Olivine dolerite is a fine grained, igneous rock with a dense weight and dark (mafic) colouration. Olivine dolerite is similar in appearance to both gabbro and basalt, but vary chemically and mineralogically. This olivine dolerite was collected from Clee Hill, Shropshire in the UK. The section is made to 30 microns thickness and the glass is 46 x 27 mm in size with a cover slip. Supplied in a protective card sleeve with a label, ideal for microscopy.
