The controller maintains the temperature within a specified operating range for repeatable results.4) pH Control As per ASTM B117, when atomized at 35 °C the collected solution should be within the pH range 6.5 to 7.2. A pH meter is used to monitor this value.5) Air Supply Air supply must be free from oil and dust. Pressure is maintained so that uniform salt fog occurs. Typical pressure: 1.0 kg/cm² ± 0.2.6) Atomization and Quantity of Fog As per ASTM B117, for every 80 cm² (4-inch funnel) of horizontal collecting area, collected solution should be 1.0 to 2.0 mL per hour averaged over at least 16 hours.
